Kinetics Orange Pop Review

I bought this in Dubai on my last holiday when it was sunny and hot and all I wanted was a neon polish on my fingers. And this was perfect.

Back in the cold, miserable UK it seems slightly too bright… but I still love it. I did have to do a base coat of white polish before painting my nails, and this needed 3 coats of colour. It took quite a long time to dry, even with Seche Vite which is a definite no-no for me. Also… I only noticed when I was taking these photos that it says ‘for artifical nails only’. What a strange thing to say, I’ve never seen that before. Have you? Does it mean that it’s not safe/hasn’t been tested on natural nails? *panics slightly* Well, I wore this for about a week and didn’t see or feel anything of concern.

This is not the best polish I’ve ever tried, but it fulfilled my holiday neon craving so I’m happy!\

Another polish from the beautiful a-england ‘The Legend’ collection. This one is a glorious emerald green that, depending on the light, has a blue or gold tint and a true holographic shimmer running through it. This is one of those polishes that just has you staring at your nails all day.

Just like the other polishes in this collection, this could have been a one-coater but I am a creature of habit and did two coats anyway. It was then topped with Seche Vite, although it’s super shiny and sparkley without.

‘The Legend’ collection is sadly no longer available, but you can get Adina’s stunning nail polishes HERE.

OPI Don’t Talk Bach To Me

OPI Don’t Talk Bach To Me is from the OPI Germany collection (I just love this nail polish’s name!)

This is a chartreuse shimmery polish. It is so unusual that I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not for a long time. But I think I’m falling on the side of ‘like’. It feels like the perfect shade for spring and I don’t have anything else similar.

This was two thin coats of nail varnish, topped with Seche Vite.

You can buy it HERE, if you’re as big a fan as me.

The Euro Centrale collection is turning out to be one of my favourites from OPI. I totally fell in love with the nail varnish names from the beginning but the polishes have really grown on me after swatching,

‘Eurso Euro’ is a dark indigo creme polish. It is a lovely vibrant colour but it was quite a thin formula, I had to be careful not to flood my cuticles, but surprisingly it still only needed two coats. This is topped with Seche Vite.

You can buy this beautiful polish HERE and you can see my swatches of some other nail varnishes from the collection here: Polka.comVant To Bite My NeckI Saw…U Saw…We Saw…WarsawYou’re Such A BudapestMy Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours.

Dainty Doll It’s My Party Lipstick

Dainty Doll It's My Party Lipstick

Dainty Doll It’s my Party Lipstick

Dainty Doll is a cosmetics brand started by Nicola Roberts (yes, the one from Girls Aloud). She has red hair with very pale skin and became fed up of trying out cosmetics that didn’t go light enough or suit her colouring. So she made her own brand. Pretty bad ass really!

I didn’t have high hopes for this lipstick, I don’t know why but the Girls Aloud connection put me off a bit…but I was so wrong. This lipstick is GORGEOUS. It is slightly matte so you have to moisturise your lips well with balm beforehand but it means that it is long-lasting. I quite like the semi-matte look, but if you don’t you can pop a bit of gloss over the top.

The lipstick looks like such a bright coral in the tube but applies to be a bit more subtle – it still catches the eye but doesn’t blind you!

2016 update: Dainty Doll as a brand no longer exists, which I think is sad as there aren’t many cosmetics brands who focus solely on very pale skin tones. Perhaps it will reappear in future.
