Duck And Dry Blow Dry Review

I am so lazy when it comes to my hair. So, for people like me the rise of blow dry bars is an absolute lifesaver. They’re massive in America and I think the more mainstream these become in the UK the better. Read on to hear about my Duck and Dry blow dry!

Let’s start with the salon because it’s basically what would happen if Pinterest and Instagram had a baby: all pastels, exposed brick, fun lights and high ceilings. Basically I wanted to move in.

They also have a downstairs room that can be hired out for private parties which would be so fun for a hen do or birthday. It even has a bar… ideal!

I was brought over to the hair styling station where the lovely hair stylist asked me a few questions about my hair and what I was hoping to have done. Every time I go to the hairdresser I leave with poker straight hair and so I fancied something a bit different. They have a book of styles to choose from (blow dry styles and some seriously pretty up dos that I definitely need to try!) so I had a nosey through them and decided on beach waves. I love the rocky, messy, undone look so this is dream hair for me.

My hair was washed (but there is also a cheaper blow dry option where they dry shampoo you and then transform your dry hair into a beautiful blow dry) and then blow dried and curled to imperfect perfection!

I really love the outfit I was wearing above. A lot of it isn’t available anymore but I’ve tried to find similar items! The necklace is from Black Heart Creatives (still available HERE), the belt is Moschino (available HERE), the skirt was from ASOS (a similar one from Topshop HERE) and the top was from River Island (similar one from Warehouse HERE or a similar layered one HERE – the top in the picture is actually layered but I’ve tucked it in!). Oh and of course, my super stylist Fitbit Charge *looks to camera* (HERE).

When I left the salon and walked down the King’s Road I genuinely felt like I was in an advert, I was strutting away and staring at myself in shop windows… plus the next morning my hair still looked incredible: the sign of a great blow dry.

The staff were lovely, the salon very inviting (even with its fancy location and clientele!) and the blow dry was probably my best yet. If you’ve got an event or a night out – or just fancy treating yourself – the Duck and Dry blow dry is a wonderful idea. And a flipping great blow dry for £32 is a real bargain in my opinion!

You can see all of the styles they offer for inspiration HERE.

Are you a fan of blow dry bars? Which Duck and Dry blow dry style would you go for?
