I’m currently on holiday so the fact that it’s Friday has lost all meaning to me. But here are my Friday Faves: all the bits and pieces that I’ve been loving recently. Don’t forget to let me know the things you think I should know about, I love hearing your recommendations!
There are a lot of beauty favourites in this week’s Friday Faves but the first entry had to be these beautiful earrings. My little sister bought them from Accessorize and I love them. I think they have a lovely vintage feel to them and are so unusual in style. They have Labradorite triangles inset and there’s also a matching necklace which is very pretty. I very rarely wear earrings but I think these may help me get back into the habit.
Until recently I don’t think I had tried anything from Pixi, but they kindly sent me a box of bits to test out and I’m very impressed. The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed the Pixi Quick Fix Powder* featuring on my selfie product lists: this has been my loose powder of choice ever since I received it. It’s a clever product that applies and buffs the powder through the powder puff, with no need for an extra brush. Plus there’s a handy little mirror in the lid so you can use it on the go, which is why it was the perfect addition to my holiday make up bag. I’ve also been using the Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish* which is a lovely product that contains shea butter and three different oils (sweet almond, apricot, and evening primrose oil) to soften and condition the lips. The tube comes with an exfoliating tip to massage the lips and increase circulation making them appear plumper.
I bought this huge bottle of Topicrem (FYI I haven’t used the CocoonCentre website so can’t personally vouch for it, so – as with buying anything online – be careful!) last year when I went to Paris but have only started using it recently. It’s a very lightweight milky moisturiser that I’ve been applying to my arms and legs before bed. It absorbs really quickly so it doesn’t leave me sticking to the bedcovers! The only downside for me is the smell… it has a bit of an old-fashioned scent (or as my husband tactfully put it: ‘you smell like an old lady’…!) so if you’re particularly picky about that kind of thing then it might not be for you. But it leaves my skin feeling very soft and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
I spoke about the Beauty Kitchen brand in THIS post, so you’ll already know that I love their ethos and approach to beauty. The Beauty Kitchen 60 Second Manicure* is a lovely product that cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the hands. You wet your hands and and rub it over your hands, especially any dry spots and around your cuticles. It’s suitable for vegans and cruelty-free and you can take a look at all of the delicious-smelling ingredients listed here to get an idea how incredible the scent is.
I had heard great things about the AmazingCosmetics AmazingConcealer* but hadn’t seen it in person to get a colour match so kept putting it off. But the PR made an educated (and correct!) guess and sent me ‘Fair’. It’s a fairly small tube and costs £20.99 but I can’t stress enough that you need a tiny TINY amount each time so I think this tube will last me for a long time. I originally tried a pea-sized amount for my under-eyes and ended up with about 75% left on the back of my hand and faaaar too much product under my eyes so you really do need a tiny amount! It’s definitely high coverage enough to deal with my under-eye bags and my rosacea redness, without looking or feeling cakey, so that’s a huge thumbs up from me.
It’s a pretty beauty heavy Friday Faves this week but these are the bits and pieces I really wanted you to know about… some exciting and some a bit more functional! What are your Friday Faves? I’m interested in anything you’re loving at the moment: beauty, books, TV, films, places, music… you name it, I want to hear about it!
