Stranger Things Nail Art

Who else is excited for the launch of the new season of Stranger Things? I’ve purposely kept my evening free so that I can binge watch it and I’m currently avoiding Twitter in the hope of escaping spoilers! Of course, as soon as I heard the new season was out I knew I had to do some Stranger Things nail art …

When I was thinking about the programme, this design was the first thing I pictured. It’s such an iconic part of the film and I knew it’d look great on the nails. I’ve listed the products I used in this Stranger Things nail art look, in case you want to recreate it.

The base coat was essie ‘wrap me up‘*, which is one of their Cashmere mattes. A little tip! If you’re doing nail art with nail art pens it’s sometimes easier to paint detail on top of matte polish as it grips better. Obviously it makes clean up a little more tricky though! I used the Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art pen in ‘Black 410’ which I bought in New York and really like, although it can be blotchy if you’re not careful. For the fairy lights I used all essie polishes: Avenue Maintain (blue), Status Symbol (pink), On The Roadie* (green), Aim To Misbehave* (yellow). For the strings on the lights I used a tiny paintbrush and essie Licorice. Seche Vite top coat completed the look and helped with the beautiful shiny finish.

I really love the way these came out. It helps that the writing is supposed to be a little messy and slapdash. It meant I didn’t have to focus too much on keeping things tidy!
