Skincare Shake Up: April ’18 Edition

Hopefully you’ll all be familiar with the format of my Skincare Shake Up posts, but just in case you’re new here: every month I post a round up of the products I used in the previous month so I can share my thoughts with you. There are usually some tried and trusted favourites that have popped up year after year, but I also try out new products and formulas. I have rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis so my skin is very picky about the products it likes. I try to include information any potential irritants in the summary of each product as I know that some products that are great for my skin might not be appropriate for others. I’m not a trained dermatologist, I have just tried A LOT of products over the past 13 years and wanted to share my experiences. Right! Enough waffle… let’s crack on with my Skincare Shake Up: April ’18 edition!

Living With Someone With Rosacea: My Husband’s Story

It is the last day of Rosacea Awareness Month today and I wanted to write a post that I’ve been pondering about for a while. I spend a lot of time thinking about my rosacea and trying to come to terms with the way it makes me feel, act, and how I see myself. But – as with any condition that changes the way you live your life – I have spent a lot of time wondering how my rosacea effects other people, namely my husband.

Tips For Ocular Rosacea: In Association With Specsavers

I’ve had issues with my eyes for as long as I can remember: they are incredibly sensitive to light and wind, are always bloodshot, have a permanent gritty sensation, they water constantly and often get blurry. It’s just as annoying as it sounds! When I was finally diagnosed with ocular rosacea it was such a relief to give it a name. Ocular rosacea isn’t very well known but it is a dermatologic condition that affects the eye area and – unsurprisingly – is common among those of us who have rosacea. In this post I’ve put together my tips for dealing with tired and irritated eyes, as well as chatting about my brand spanking new glasses.

In My Skin: Talking Rosacea On The Radio

A couple of months ago I was approached by BBC5 Live to ask if I wanted to take part in their In My Skin series: they were focusing on skin conditions and the impact these can have on people. I recorded a short video with them and then last week I went on the radio to chat further about my rosacea.

Skincare Shake Up: January ’18 Edition

I was in two minds about doing a Skincare Shake Up for January. For most of the month I was in Japan, which means that I was relying on products that I’d already used. If you have sensitive or awkward skin, you will know that a holiday can cause all sorts of issues with your skin: flights, change in diet, the water (hard water is the devil!), disrupted sleep, temperature changes… it all adds up. So when I travel, I tend to stick with what I know.
