Skincare Shake Up: July and August ’18 Edition

I decided to combine July and August’s Skincare Shake Up post as my skin has been a bit tricky recently and I wanted to make absolutely sure that my skincare wasn’t contributing to that. It’s been flipping warm in the UK, I did some travelling, and I’ve also had a busy and stressful couple of months with work – a perfect storm for reactive skin. So welcome to a bumper Skincare Shake Up post!

I don’t know a single person who thinks they’re getting enough sleep. But it seems to be viewed as an unavoidable curse of modern life and even a badge of honour by some. But I wanted to chat about sleep, what a lack of it can mean, and the impact of sleep on skin.

Skincare Shake Up: June 2018 Edition

I typically post one Skincare Shake Up post a month to show you what I’m using and what has made the cut, but some of you have noticed that I skipped May. I had been trying a few new products and wanted to give them a little bit of time because summer weather and rosacea are not a fun combination at the best of times, but adding in unknown products? Potentially disastrous! So both of the skincare routines below have been in place for two months.

Skincare routine for sensitive skin, skincare for rosacea. Talonted Lex skincare shake up.

How To Cover Thread Veins

In the last 13 years my rosacea has changed so much: I’ve gone from Type 2 (pustules and bumps) to Type 1 (flushing with persistent redness); my skin is now more oily, rather than dry and scaly; I’ve changed my diet and lifestyle, my skincare routine has been honed and perfected, and I’ve learned how to manage my stress a little better. I finally feel like I am more in control of my rosacea, but years of damage have left me with a lot of broken capillaries (spider veins or telangiectasia if we’re being scientific) which give my skin a pink tone even when I’m not having a flare up. Keep reading for my tips on how to cover thread veins below.
