Beauty Without Boundaries

A very exciting phrase I never thought I would say coming up… tomorrow I will be talking at Vogue House. I will be doing two talks as part of the Beauty Without Boundaries pop up: a partnership with Vogue, Feel Unique and Pinterest to celebrate the Vogue Beauty Awards. Pinterest has asked me to talk about my rosacea and how I use ‘unusual’ beauty to give me confidence – a topic I could talk about until the cows come home. They may need to drag me off-stage to shut me up…!

How To Cover Thread Veins

In the last 13 years my rosacea has changed so much: I’ve gone from Type 2 (pustules and bumps) to Type 1 (flushing with persistent redness); my skin is now more oily, rather than dry and scaly; I’ve changed my diet and lifestyle, my skincare routine has been honed and perfected, and I’ve learned how to manage my stress a little better. I finally feel like I am more in control of my rosacea, but years of damage have left me with a lot of broken capillaries (spider veins or telangiectasia if we’re being scientific) which give my skin a pink tone even when I’m not having a flare up. Keep reading for my tips on how to cover thread veins below.

Skincare Shake Up: April ’18 Edition

Hopefully you’ll all be familiar with the format of my Skincare Shake Up posts, but just in case you’re new here: every month I post a round up of the products I used in the previous month so I can share my thoughts with you. There are usually some tried and trusted favourites that have popped up year after year, but I also try out new products and formulas. I have rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis so my skin is very picky about the products it likes. I try to include information any potential irritants in the summary of each product as I know that some products that are great for my skin might not be appropriate for others. I’m not a trained dermatologist, I have just tried A LOT of products over the past 13 years and wanted to share my experiences. Right! Enough waffle… let’s crack on with my Skincare Shake Up: April ’18 edition!

Living With Someone With Rosacea: My Husband’s Story

It is the last day of Rosacea Awareness Month today and I wanted to write a post that I’ve been pondering about for a while. I spend a lot of time thinking about my rosacea and trying to come to terms with the way it makes me feel, act, and how I see myself. But – as with any condition that changes the way you live your life – I have spent a lot of time wondering how my rosacea effects other people, namely my husband.

How To Stop Negative Thoughts: Tips And Advice

I was a very confident and outgoing child. I would talk to anyone, was always singing and dancing and putting on shows in front of anyone who would listen. I went through some awkward teenage years (I felt I was too skinny, I had no boobs to speak of, I didn’t like the way I looked compared to my friends…) but it was when I went to university and my rosacea emerged that the real damage was done to my confidence. I struggled to put myself out there and make new friends, I convinced myself that others were judging me, and treated myself horribly. After many years I’m finally trying to move away from those bad habits and so I wanted to share my tips on how to stop negative thoughts.
