It’s rare that I do outfit posts because I very rarely buy clothes. If you know me in real life, you will know that I’m a jeans-and-shirt kind of girl. But when I was in France I got some new bits and pieces (including a blush pink leather jacket of dreams) so thought I’d show you. Yes, it’s still in the jeans and t-shirt arena, but the jacket is definitely a new direction for me. Baby steps, okay?!
I’ve wanted a blush pink leather jacket (and by leather I mean ‘leather’) for ages, but hadn’t found one I liked. They were either too boxy, too flimsy, too pink, or too expensive for something that I won’t want to keep forever. I saw this one in Bershka and loved it immediately. Plus it’s only £39.99 and also comes in cream (which is LOVELY), red, or black. It feels like it’s well-made so will last – sometimes leather-effect products can feel very thin and like they’d fall apart within a few weeks.
Apparently this colour is referred to as ‘Millennial Pink’ and I flipping love it, seeming like a more grown up and chic way to wear pink. It goes so well with an all black outfit without making you feel like a 5 year old!
I’m also wearing a new t-shirt that I also picked up from Bershka. It’s a faded black thin t-shirt with a patch on the chest that says ‘Today I will do absolutely nothing’. It speaks to me on a very deep level!
The rest of the outfit is fairly basic. I’m wearing Topshop Jamie jeans in black. These are the best jeans I’ve found: they end right on the ankle (although obviously I’ve rolled them up here), sit nicely on the waist, don’t stretch out over time and just look great. The shoes are standard Primark pumps – whenever I go to Primark I always end up with about 5 pairs of flats because they do great simple shoes that go with everything.
I pinched the Ray-Ban Wayfarer tortoiseshell sunglasses from the lovely Kirsty from Fashion For Lunch who took these amazing photos. I’ve never owned any Ray-Bans as I have so many pairs of sunglasses that lie unused in my drawers… but after wearing these I think I may have to get some. They are such a classic shape and just instantly make you look and feel like a 50s film star.
The two-tone lipstick is such a fun look (and will be featuring in the UnwearableLex Instagram series any minute now!) It’s two colours from the amazing Sephora Cream Lip Stains: the top lip is ’08 Whipped Blush’ and the bottom lip is ’10 Mandarin Muse’. What do you think of the two-tone lip look?
The nails are one of the Kiko nails that featured in my Sephora/Kiko beauty haul blog post (which you can read HERE if you need some enabling). I’m wearing Kiko Power Pro Nail Lacquer in ’18 Iris’, a vibrant pastel lilac. I’ve tried a few Kiko polishes before, but none from the Power Pro range and I’m so impressed: it went on so smoothly, had amazingly high opacity and dressed very quickly. I only got this shade and one other but next time I’m near Kiko I will definitely pick up some more.
I hope you enjoyed this OOTD post, something a little bit different from me! This blush pink leather jacket has become my new favourite item so I apologise in advance if it’s all I wear for spring/summer! What item do you have your eye on to update your wardrobe for the new season?
