If you are afraid of clowns then perhaps look away now! After seeing the film at the weekend, I immediately knew that I wanted to do some It nail art so here it is, I hope you like it! You can see some of my previous nail art HERE if you like that sort of thing…
I am so thrilled with how this It nail art has turned out. When I get an idea in my head for a manicure, I tend to sketch it out first to plan what I’m going to do… but that’s as far as I get with a preconceived idea, so sometimes things can go horribly wrong! This nail art took me about three hours but I listened to murder podcasts throughout (thanks, Once Upon A Crime!) and it absolutely flew by.
I started by putting the base of black or white on the nails. I used Gelish polishes as, once they are cured, you then have an indestructible canvas to work with. The black is Gelish ‘Black Shadow’* (three coats) and the white I used is Gelish ‘Sheek White’* For a lot of the detail I used acrylic paints – this is a little trick for nail art as it’s water soluble, so if you make a mistake you can just wipe it off and start again (I got a mini paint pack of lots of colours from eBay). Add in some tiiiiny paintbrushes, a steady hand, and lots (and lots) of patience et voila! Creepy nails!
If you haven’t seen It then I really recommend it. I have loved the book since I was young and remain utterly petrified by the original adaptation, so I tried to go into the cinema with low expectations so that I wasn’t disappointed. But I was really impressed. No spoilers, don’t worry!
Let me know what you think of my It nail art in the comments below, or come chat to me on social media: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. Oh, and if you would like to pin this image to some of your boards on Pinterest that would make my day!

Wow! This is brilliant Lex. I thought it was a transfer at first as it’s so immaculate. Top work. [I love that you were listening to murder podcasts while doing it.]
You’ll be sleeping with an axe under the bed, next. ⚒
