It’s currently 6.30pm and it is still light outside. I left the house in a jacket (rather than my enormous winter coat) the other day. It’s apparently going to be 24 degrees in London on Thursday. I’m calling it: spring is finally here! I’m choosing to embrace the new season by updating my manicure and what better way to do that than a clashing spring pastels manicure?
I know that it is such a huge cliché to gravitate towards pretty pastel colours when the days start getting warmer, but I just can’t help it! When I opened a parcel from CND Vinylux last week and saw these two colours, I actually didn’t originally intend to use them in the same manicure – I just applied them as I wanted to try them out as soon as possible. But as soon as I had a different shade on each hand, I loved the effect. I think it’s because yellow and purple are not colours that typically go together so it’s a bit unexpected – but don’t they look great together? They give me a bit of a 90s vibe…
The yellow shade is called ‘Jellied‘* and the lilac shade is ‘Gummi‘* (I’ve not bought from that Amazon seller before so, as always, be careful!). Both shades only needed two layers for full opacity – which is rare for pastels – and they dried to a lovely high-shine finish.
Also, the amazing necklace featured in this post is from the wonderful Black Heart Creatives who make some beautiful and fun jewellery, go and have a nosey!
