Floss Gloss Goes Autumnal

Let’s quickly sum up why I love, love, love Floss Gloss polishes: they’re cruelty free, vegan and 7-free, plus they come in some flipping great colours. I apologise to your bank balance in advance. Let’s take a look at the three shades I’ve picked out today…

Floss Gloss El Capitán* – I’ve stopped claiming that I hate blue nail varnish now (if you’re a long-term reader, you’ll know that this has been an ongoing theme!) and colours like this have helped me to accept this. I just love this vibrant royal blue type of shade and think it looks good on all skin tones. Apparently this is Emma Watson’s go to shade, and if it’s good enough for her…! The formula of this was quite watery and needed 3 coats for full opacity, but it layers very well and dried quickly with no lumps or bumps, even before the ubiquitous Seche Vite top coat, which I definitely needed as it dried slightly matte/dull. Sadly this shade isn’t available in the UK (sort it out, Nail Polish Direct, people need this colour!) but if you’re a fan of this kind of shade, then this post of similar shades will be very helpful!

Floss Gloss Smoke On The Nail* – This is such a beautiful classic red-berry-brown shade that – for me – is the autumn season summed up in a nail varnish colour. It was perfection in two layers and so, so shiny. If you want a colour that will never go out of style and will make you look very put-together (even if you’re a disaster like me), then this is the one for you!

Floss Gloss Candy Paintjob* – Floss Gloss glitters are some of my absolute favourites (for give evidence of this, have a look at this blog post). This is a beautiful polish with a dark purple base with hot pink micro glitter that gives perfect coverage in two layers. It’s quite a thirsty polish – the photos above show it with one coat of Seche Vite, but it still dried a little bit gritty so I think two layers of top coat would give it that smooth, glass-like shine you want for a glitter.
