GOSH Holographic Stripy Nail Art

I haven’t done any nail art in AGES, but it’s something I really enjoying doing (and what my blog was originally intended for, hence the name!) so I’m going to make more of an effort going forward. I love this holographic stripy nail art – more pictures below!

A Day of Gelish Training With Nail Harmony UK

A Day of Gelish Training With Nail Harmony UK

A few weeks ago I was kindly invited to a day of Gelish training with the Nail Harmony UK team. I managed to get really lost on the way and was really late, but thankfully there were delicious pastries waiting for us. I am terrible at recognising other bloggers so it took me ages to realise who I was in the room with, and once I did I spent the rest of the day trying not to fangirl all over them: Alice from One Nail To Rule Them All and Sammy from The Nailasaurus are as close as you can get to nail blogging royalty and are both really lovely.

Glitter Nail Varnish Removal Tutorial

Glitter Nail Varnish Removal Tutorial

I get a lot of questions on twitter and instagram about tips to easily remove glitter nail varnish, so I thought I’d do a quick video tutorial about it.

All you will need to recreate this video is: Pure acetone, squares of tin foil, a few cotton pads and some killer dance moves. All will become clear…

Let me know if this was helpful, I’d love to hear how you get on. Hopefully you can bring your neglected nail varnishes out of retirement now that it’s not such a chore to remove them!

Custom nail decals by DIY Nails

Custom nail decals by DIY Nails DIY Nails custom nail decals DIY Nails custom nail decals

You may remember a few months ago I posted about some amazing custom nail decals by DIY Nails that I ordered from the wonderful Tammy … I finally used them!

She makes nail decals with any design you want on them and, obviously, I chose gin bottles. JUST LOOK AT THEM. So amazing. And only £6! BARGAIN. If you haven’t looked at the DIY Nails website, I really recommend it. There are lots of really cute things on there so have a nosey!

So how do you use these bad boys? It’s super simple. You carefully cut each decal out, getting as close to the image as you can, soak it in water for 30 seconds by which point the backing will start to slide away and you can then delicately place the image on your nails. If you’ve ever used those temporary tattoos y0u used to get in bubble gum packs it’s a very similar method! Secure with topcoat and you’re done. They’re a bit fiddly but it gets easier as you go along. By the 4th finger I was pretty quick!

I am definitely going to get some more for my hen do. Eeeee!

What do you guys think? What would you get on your custom nail decals by DIY Nails? You can get your own here.

EXCITING EDIT: Tammy (the creator of DIY Nails) has also now opened a real life salon in Glasgow. You can see more info HERE. I haven’t visited it yet but cannot wait to go, it looks so cute and quirky from the photos I’ve seen. So proud to see all her hard work pay off. If you like the look of the decals on her website, but don’t have the steady hands to use them yourself, you can just go to NAF salon and have them done for you! Bonus.

Halloween Nail Art Tutorial

Halloween Nail Art Tutorial

Last week’s nail art tutorial seemed to go down well so I thought I would do another one. This week’s is a tutorial for dripping blood nails. These are quick, easy and look brilliant.

You will need: base coat; white nail varnish; red nail varnish; and top coat.

Step one: Apply base coat and two coats of white polish.

Step two: Decide where you want your drips to go and put drops of red nail varnish to mark the spots.

Step three: Join up the dots with red polish and add some further drips.

Step four: Add some lines of white polish to make the blood look wet. Put the lines wherever the light would catch it. Top coat away and you are done! Easy peasy!

What do you think of these gory nails? Will you try this manicure?
